How accurate is this trip cost calculator?
It gives a planning estimate based on the numbers you enter, not a live quote. Flight and hotel prices move with season and demand, so use this as a starting budget and adjust once you've checked real fares.
What costs are not included in the estimate?
Travel insurance, visa fees and airport transfers that aren't counted under local transport aren't included by default. Add them under Activities & Extras if you want them in the total.
How can I lower my travel budget?
The biggest swings usually come from when you book flights, hostel versus hotel, and restaurant meals versus local food. Adjust those three fields first to see the effect on your total.
Does this work for international trips?
Yes — enter costs in rupees, converting from the local currency at the exchange rate on the day you're budgeting. The calculator doesn't convert currency automatically.
How do I split costs with travel companions?
Set "Number of travelers" to your full group size and enter per-person figures for flights, food and drinks. Shared costs like a hotel room should stay as the actual nightly rate, not multiplied per person.
